4. KothandaramaSwamy Temple
Kothandaramaswamy Temple, a 500-year-old monastery on the southernmost tip of the island, is yet another pilgrimage destination in Rameswaram. The temple is located near the sea and appears to be a perfect location for tracing Rama’s footprints.

5. Annai Indira Gandhi Road Bridge
Annai Indira Gandhi Road Bridge, also known as Pamban Bridge, is a cantilever bridge in Palk Strait that connects Rameshwaram Island to the Indian mainland and is one of Rameshwaram’s most well-known landmarks. The bi-lane road next to the bridge gives a clear overview of the railway bridge and its incredible double-leaf bascule, which raises to allow ships to pass underneath it. 6. Five faced Hanuman Temple
The temple of Five Faced Hanuman, popularly known as Panchmukha Anjaneya, is only 2 kilometers from the Ramanathaswamy Temple. Hanumana is said to have revealed his five-faced form for the first time in this place. Lord Hanuman’s statue is smeared with sindoor and worshipped with great devotion.
The statues of Rama, Laxman, and Sita are enshrined in this temple. In the temple, there is a floating stone that is said to have been used during the Ramayana’s Sethu Bandhanam. It is called one of India’s holiest places.

7. Jatayu Tirtham Temple
The holy temple of Jatayu tirtham was built in remembrance of Jatayu, Rama’s most loyal eagle who assisted him in obtaining herbs from the mountains several times.
It is stated that this eagle gave up its life in order to save Lord Rama’s life, and as a result, its sacrifice is always remembered, and it is still honoured as a deity today. When it died, it was buried in the ground, and the Jatayu temple was built on the site of its burial. Its pit was completely filled with vibhuti, which is the sacred ash acquired following yagnas.
