1. Padmanabhapuram Palace

The Padmanabhapuram Palace is divided into many portions, each with its own significance, and is located within a four-kilometer fortress. The palace creates a lasting impression from the entrance, where an artistically carved jackfruit tree bears witness to its unparalleled beauty, to the breathtaking interiors, which are filled with elaborately carved columns, seats with Chinese carvings, and Belgian mirrors. 

For safekeeping, the Padmanabhapuram Palace holds a number of unusual artifacts such as old Chinese jars, a variety of weapons, brass lamps, wood and stone sculpture, furniture and huge mirrors, paintings, a wooden cot, and a polished stone cot. The Kerala Government is in control of maintaining this enchanting palace, and Padmanabhapuram Palace acquires hundreds of visitors every day.

2. Wax Museum

Kanyakumari’s wax museum is one of the city’s most significant historic attractions. It is considered India’s first wax historical center. The museum first opened to the wider region in December 2005. The museum has wax images of many important national and international personalities who represent India’s and the world’s history and culture.

Our Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi, Mother Teresa, famous Bollywood celebrity Amitabh Bachchan, Indira Gandhi, power man Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jackie Chan, and many others are among the important people on the show in the museum. The wax statues are created in the manner of the famous Madame Tussauds Wax Museum in London.

3. Chitharai Jain monuments

The Chitharai Jain Monuments attract Jain pilgrims and architecture lovers from all over the world. These historically significant monuments also act as good illustrations of how the country’s different religions coexist.

Because Digambara Jain monks originally lived at Chitharal, there is a cave temple with rock-cut sculptures of Tirthankaras and other deities dating from the 9th century. Aside from the beautiful monuments, the enticing aura and peacefulness of the location make it a must-see.

4. Kanyakumari Beach

Kanyakumari Beach, also known as Cape Comorin Beach, is one of Kanyakumari’s most mesmerizing destinations. The beautiful beach is a traveler’s paradise, located at the southernmost tip of the Indian peninsula at the combination of three main water bodies. Tourists come from all over the world to visit the golden sand beach on the banks of the glittering sea waves.

The three unique colors of the waters from the Indian Ocean, Bay of Bengal, and the Arabian Sea merging with each other will amaze you. The exciting environment is attributed to the breathtaking sunset that can be seen against the majestic coastline.

5. Thanumalayan Temple

Sthanumalayan Kovil, or Thanumalayan temple, is a sacred shrine dedicated to Trimurthis (Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva). The beautiful temple was rebuilt in the 17th century, but its inscriptions date from the 9th century. This magnificent cathedral illustrates architectural brilliance. The four melodic pillars made out of a single stone in the Malankara mandapam area are one of the temple’s main attractions. When struck with a thumb, these musical pillars produce different types of musical notes.

The Sthanumalayan Perumal Temple is also famous for portraying both Shaivite and Vaishnavite elements of Hinduism. Massive statues of Anjaneya and Nandi, one of a kind, can also be found at the temple. Thousands of people come to this temple every year for the Rathotsava and Teppam celebrations.

6. Our lady of Ransom church

Our Lady of Ransom is the head of the church of the Spanish congregation. The people of Kanyakumari began to refer to their patron as Alangara Upakara Matha by combining the names Ransom and Delight. This magnificent church has been built in her honour. The church’s colorfully stained windows cast a variety of colors inside the main structure, while the three white spires of the principal structure rise into the sky. When the church is lit up in the evenings and at night, it is at its most attractive. The statue of the Virgin Mary, dressed in a sari, at the altar attracts visitors the most.

7. Bhagavathy Amman Temple

This temple is also one of Kanyakumari’s most popular tourist attractions. It is one of India’s 108 shakti peethas, and it has religious importance going back at least 3000 years.
